The big problem with weight management programs is their purpose is not clearly defined. No! What? What are you talking about? It’s very simple, really. On the surface, it seems to be clear as day - a weight management program is a set of lifestyle instructions designed to help you maintain a certain weight. That’s nonsense, though. You don’t follow a weight management program to lose or maintain weight. Think about it. If corpulence were in vogue again (historically, it makes a comeback now and then), you wouldn’t bother with programs, diets, diet pills, and so forth. Sure, being overweight is unhealthy and might lead to various problems of sad medical nature. There are, however, many jobs and lifestyles today that pose similar or worse hazards, and yet they are fervently pursued, as they promise their pursuers HAPPINESS in extraordinary amounts. |
