Food packaging is required to report certain nutritional facts, specifically calories, fats, and daily percentages of vitamins and minerals. The problem is that we are left to interpret the information and sometimes it is more like comparing apples to oranges. There are three things you should really watch we reading this information: serving size and servings per container, number of calories, and amounts of the bad things.

I have to pick up my kids.
I had to stay late at work.
I have to cook dinner for my family.
I’m too tired.
I’m intimidated by the gym.
It’s too cold outside.

Most of us already know that we should take the time to exercise, but something always seems to get in the way. Let’s face it. We all have plenty of excuses not to exercise. Some of them even seem pretty legitimate. When we share our excuses with others, they sympathize. I know how you feel, they say.

Or maybe it occurred around the time you step foot on college campus for the first time. Those late nights of studying might have led you to late-night binge eating sessions. Or maybe you gained a good amount of weight after the birth of your first child, and seemed to be stuck with it ever since. Regardless of the cause, weight gain is a serious matter. It affects your energy levels, your stamina, and your overall health. Obesity has been linked to numerous diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

Most people are classically biased toward one of the three legs of the fitness triad: progressive resistance training, cardiovascular training or diet/nutrition. How many folks try and lose weight by dieting and dieting alone? A safe bet would be a majority of individuals. Ever wonder why people who lose a lot of bodyweight rapidly still look fat? It?s because they are still fat.

When the human organism perceives starvation it reverts to a primordial hardwiring that seeks to preserve body fat (the last line of defense against starvation) at all costs. So dieting alone can results in weight loss but when more muscle than body fat is lost as a result of crash dieting, the end result is not all that impressive.

    What Is Thiamin?

Known as Vitamin B1, thiamin was the very first B-Vitamin discovered. As an integral part of the B-complex spectrum of vitamins, thiamin is primarily involved in energy metabolism ? turning foods into a useable energy source for the body, known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate). All of the B-vitamins work together to produce ATP, and each different vitamin is also involved in more specific aspects of the human body. Thiamin helps support healthy nerves and a healthy heart, is involved in positively influencing mood, and is also now considered useful for soothing heartburn.

    How does Thiamin Work?

For most of our lives, the immune system deals with cancer cells by killing them off as they develop, that is its job. On the other hand, when cancer has developed and medical treatments are preventing the immune system from functioning normally, it is not only wise to have a plan for strengthening the immune system, it is vital.

When waging war against cancer, or any ailment taking steps to bolster the immune system is half the battle — especially if medical treatments are impairing the functionality of the immune system and making the body more acidic.

Women spend more time working out to improve the bottom half of their body ( both butt and legs ) than men do. This is why you will see many a man with a well developed torso or arms with chicken legs. But this article is for women and their bottoms. The reason women work more on their lower half is probably due to media and fashion influence. Women wear shorter and tighter shorts, pants, and swimsuits. So this puts psychological pressure on them. Chances are, if you are in a gym, the butt blaster is occupied by a woman rather than a man. She is pushing for that nice tight tush seen in commercials.

While stress is unavoidable, minimizing stress or reducing it to an acceptable level is a must for health, wellness, longevity, and productivity. Stress leads to numerous physiologic effects. Stress activates our flight or fight nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system. This activation leads to an increased heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, sweating (especially the palms), dilation of the eyes, and muscle tension. Further increase in our stress level will cause poor concentration, irritability, mood swings, and reduced productivity.
