Most people are classically biased toward one of the three legs of the fitness triad: progressive resistance training, cardiovascular training or diet/nutrition. How many folks try and lose weight by dieting and dieting alone? A safe bet would be a majority of individuals. Ever wonder why people who lose a lot of bodyweight rapidly still look fat? It?s because they are still fat.

When the human organism perceives starvation it reverts to a primordial hardwiring that seeks to preserve body fat (the last line of defense against starvation) at all costs. So dieting alone can results in weight loss but when more muscle than body fat is lost as a result of crash dieting, the end result is not all that impressive.

Experience yourself with your desired physique engaging in a Herculean exertion / impact set, feeling all the related sensory factors.

What do you think about before you nod off at night? Your day at work? Your significant other? Your chores at home? Whatever it may be, you could put that time to better use in an attempt to maximize your bodybuilding goals.

Rather than going through the usual unconscious or semi-conscious processing of your day’s experiences or what you need to do tomorrow, mentally reinforce and strategically motivate yourself for success in the gym.

Did I mention protein powders make me sick? Well, not literally of course. At least I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid any spoiled or contaminated protein products. What I mean is that I’ve gotten really bored with drinking the same protein shakes every day.

What do I mean when I say that protein powders make me sick? Well I don’t mean it literally of course. I just mean that it’s gotten really boring because I have to drink the same shakes every day. So do you really have to drink these products if you want to gain muscle?

Way back when I was in high school, one of my peers in the campus weight room had a peculiar reply to a claim from a buddy of mine. My friend was saying that a person could derive benefit from splitting rep motions in half on barbell curls. This essentially entails making sets out of moving the barbell from the hips to the halfway point – then doing a block of sets from the midway point to the fully curled position. The guy’s reply: “I’ve heard you shouldn’t perform split reps like that because it can make you too bulky.” My friend and I looked at each other and agreed that we were both hoping to have such a burdensome “problem.”

Like any sport, it is important to wear clothing that will give you the most benefit as well as being comfortable to wear. Choosing bodybuilding clothes is no exception. Believe it or not, there’s more to choosing your clothing than just putting on a t-shirt and some shorts. Choosing the right clothes can make a big difference.

One of the most important things to bare in mind is that your clothes are comfortable to train in. They must allow enough movement so as to not restrict your movement. A popular choice is a vest and shorts. This combination allows for a lot of movement as well as being able to see the muscles that you are training. This can give you more motivation as you can actually see the muscles growing as your training program extends.
